This working guide combines the official Strawberry Farms hole diagrams with the local notes already maintained in the Front 9 and Back 9 rule pages.
Map status: The hole diagrams and written notes are available now. Red and yellow ESA boundary lines will be added as editable overlays after each boundary is verified on the course. On-course paint, stakes and signs remain authoritative.

This page is designed to help you know what to do if you or your playing partner's hit a ball into ESA, flower beds or yellow stake areas.
"Nearest point", except designated drop area, is always from point where the ball crossed the hazard line. Not from where you find it.
At SFGC there are many holes where you may not cross the hazard line.
Hole 1
Local guidance
- White fence lining the right side of number one is out of bounds - replay from the tee.
- The entire left side is ESA - nearest point of relief
- Behind the green is ESA - nearest point no closer to the hole.

- The entire right side of the cart path is ESA - Nearest point is left of the cart path.
- ESA also lines the left side - Nearest point. However, if you do not carry the ESA you must drop where the ball crossed into the ESA which may be front and left of the white tee box.

- These are to be played as a lateral hazard - 3 options
- Nearest point of relief where the ball entered the hazard - one stroke penalty
- Play the ball where it lies - you may ground your club

- The area to the right and over the cart path near the green is ESA.

- The entire left side is lined with ESA - nearest point of relief
- The entire right side is lined with ESA. Nearest point of relief
- Note: you must cross the cart path at some point. If not, the nearest point is back on the tee box.
- If you don't see the ball bounce your probably dead and must reload.
- Your prez has seen many players blast one to the right and think that they cross the cart path.
- From the blue tees the shortest point to carry the ESA is 184. The furthest in bounds point is 240 yards.
- Get it right - Ask your playing partners and don't assume you carried it because, unless you are a bomber, you probably didn't.

- The entire hole is surrounded by ESA.
- The only problem area is the left side off the tee. Just like #8 many players think they carried the ESA when in fact there was no chance.
- Get it right - ask your playing partners and don't assume you carried it.

- Everything on the right side of the cart path until there are stakes (about 200 yards out) is red ESA. After that, the stakes come into play.
- Left side of the hole and over the green is also red ESA.

- ESA left and right. For the right ESA, any shot crossing more than five yards right of the bend in the cart path should be re-teed. This can be done as a provisional in case there is a lucky bounce, but such a shot is not going to cross into the ESA further up. For shots left of this that cannot be found, it can be generally assumed that they crossed further up. All of this assumes a straight shot. A hook or a slice needs to be factored in. Any shot that is slicing, even over the cart path, probably needs to be re-teed, while a hooking shot may be okay. Bottom line is there is precious little room to the right and fewer shots cross further up than most people think.
- Yellow ESA in front of the green. Shots going in either need to be hit from the same place or dropped on a line containing the point of crossing and the pin with a one stroke penalty.
- Balls on the cart path to the right of the green (left of the hazard) can be dropped, but relief must be taken no closer to the hole.
